George Bennett

George Bennett is a highly experienced practitioner in all aspects of FDI gained over 35 year’s employment with one of the world’s leading FDI agencies – IDA Ireland.

He was a member of the Management & Leadership Team of IDA Ireland and held a range of senior management positions in IDA, primarily in new business investment. He led inward investment teams in a wide variety of business sectors – Electronics, Software, Services, Consumer, Engineering, Life Sciences & Clean Tech.

Additionally, George held the post of Director of Communications at IDA with responsibility for all national and international communications including media, branding, advertising and promotion.

George was also Head of Corporate Planning and Strategy at IDA Ireland where he had overall responsibility for the organisation’s strategic planning, performance measurement and strategy implementation.

Since departing IDA in June 2015, George now works as a Business Consultant, specialising in Foreign Direct Investment and Business Strategy Development. He is a Senior Investment Promotion Consultant with the World Bank Group, worked on several major projects, including at national level in, India, South Africa, Egypt, Croatia & Kazakhstan, sub national in Odisha India, Gauteng, Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal South Africa and at City level in Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
