Alicia Frohmann

Alicia Frohmann is a trade policy and export promotion expert, with experience both as a policy maker in Chile and as a consultant to developing countries across Latin America. She was Technical Coordinator of Chile’s free-trade negotiations with the US, and Director of ProChile, the international trade promotion network.

As a consultant, she has advised several Latin American governments, as well as the UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IADB), on issues related to trade policy, export promotion and SME competitiveness. She has worked on projects providing technical assistance and training for export innovation with trade promotion organisations and exporters in Ecuador, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Peru, Colombia, Honduras, and the Dominican Republic. Other countries where she has gained experience include her native Chile, Uruguay, and Bolivia. She teaches at the University of Heidelberg in Santiago and at the University of Chile.
